Job Details - Qualification requirements for the QC Manager are as follows:
Graduate engineer, graduate architect, or a graduate of construction management, and must hold a state Professional Engineer's license, with a minimum of two years construction experience on construction similar to this Contract, one year of which as a Quality Control Representative.
OR A construction person with a minimum of ten years in related work and one year experience as a Quality Control Representative.
Should have experience on both building and site type projects.
Either individual must be familiar with the requirements of EM 385-1-1.
Position will require travel to the project site on a daily basis with 40-50 hours of work per week required.
This individual reports to the Project Manager and the duties are to perform and coordinate the Quality Control Management on the Project and assist in the submittal review and processing, subcontractor/supplier coordination, project Quality Control documentation, coordination of 3rd party QC organizations and coordination of supplemental and specialized QC personnel.
General listing of job duties (not intended to be all inclusive):
Execute the Quality Control Plan for the project in accordance with the contract documents Complete responsibility for all Construction Quality issues.
Act as the Quality Control coordinator between the contractor, subcontractors, and any Independent Testing Labs.
Has the authority to act on all construction quality control matter for the contractor.
Shall be onsite at all times performing Construction Quality Control duties, including, but not limited to implementation of the three-phase inspection system.
Track construction deficiencies from identification through acceptable corrective action.
Complete review and familiarity with contact drawings and specifications on all assigned projects, including shop drawing reviews and approvals.
Meet with the owner/architect/engineer as directed to maintain a positive co-operative relationship.
Participate in project partnering programs if established for the project.
Assist in the pre-job planning on all constructed items before starting the field work.
Attend project meetings as required.
Assist in the preparation of documentation required for project closeout.
Participate in the enforcement of the Corporate Safety Program.
For USACE projects utilize the RMS/QCS software system to maintain project records.
